USING STRIDE
Terms of Service
Last updated: 19 October 2026
These terms describe use of the Stride Android app and this information website. Please read them before using Stride. Questions can be sent to stridesteptracker.support@gmail.com.
What Stride provides
Stride helps you track daily steps, set goals, explore your history and earn achievements. Google Drive backup is optional. You do not need a Google connection to use local tracking.
Step counts and wellbeing
Step counts are estimates based on your device's sensors. Results can vary with your phone, how you carry it, permissions, battery settings and non-walking movement. Tracking can be interrupted or delayed. Goals, achievements and reports are for personal activity awareness; Stride is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. Choose activity goals appropriate to your circumstances.
Using the app responsibly
You may use Stride for lawful personal activity tracking. Do not use it to access another person's account or data without permission, interfere with its backup services, or attempt to bypass security controls. These terms do not restrict uses or rights permitted by applicable law.
Your records and backups
You retain your rights in your records. Local progress is stored on your device. Clearing app storage, uninstalling, losing your device or replacing records during an import or restore may remove local progress. Keep an independent export if you need an additional recovery copy.
If you enable Google Drive backup, you authorise Stride to store and retrieve its backup files in the selected account's private application-data folder. Backups depend on Google services, account access, available storage, connectivity and Android scheduling. An automatic interval is not a guaranteed upload time. Check the last successful backup before relying on it.
Restore only a copy you intend to use: a confirmed restore replaces saved progress. Recovery copies are limited and should not be treated as permanent archives. Disconnecting Drive leaves cloud copies in place. Removing Stride's hidden application data through Google Drive deletes those copies. Further details are in the privacy policy.
Google and GitHub services
Google provides account authorisation and Drive storage; GitHub Pages hosts this website. Their services are governed by their own applicable terms. Stride is an independent app and is not sponsored or endorsed by Google or GitHub.
Updates and availability
Updates may fix problems, improve compatibility or change features. Device compatibility and third-party services can change over time. If a change materially affects these terms or the handling of your data, the revised information will be published with an updated date and brought to your attention as required by law. Changes do not retrospectively remove rights you already have.
Your legal rights
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any consumer rights or remedies that apply by law, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence. The practical limitations described above do not remove those rights.
Stopping use
You can stop using Stride at any time. You can export progress, disconnect Google Drive or revoke Google permission before uninstalling. Uninstalling does not itself delete files you exported or existing Drive backups.
